The Bourne Ultimatum
Greengrass absolutely nailed the third film in the trilogy, and gave us a film that not only surpasses the original two, but concludes the story of Jason Bourne in a really satisfying way.
Casino Royale stepped up the pace of stunt sequences in action films with it's parkour inspired madness when it was released last year, but The Bourne Ultimatum reminded us of why Casino Royale borrowed the fast paced, rough-and-tumble sequences from the Bourne films. Ultimatum took things and raised them more than a notch, with every bit of action surpassing that much-loved opening chase in Royale. It's a fast paced film with some amazing extended chase scenes, but doesn't leave you feeling drained, and executes the feeling of a cat and mouse hunt almost flawlessly.
It'll be sad to never see an original Jason Bourne scene again, but if you're feeling sad (or just plain sad), just do what I plan on doing -- watching The Bourne Ultimatum again, and again, and again, and again...
