Sicko
As a Brit, happy with our state-run health service, it would be so easy for me to be all high-and-mighty after watching Sicko, and I can imagine a lot of folks with be walking around with that smug feeling once more people see Michael Moores latest flick.
Unfortunately, as nice as it would be to feel smug about the situation, I simply can't bring myself to feel that way. Sicko was a deeply saddening movie, full of stories about avoidable death and human suffering that simply didn't have to happen. The Americans have terrible healthcare, we don't, and Sicko did an amazing job to hammer the fact home. What can change the American healthcare system? In the words of Tony Benn, the only thing that can change things is a revolution, and I'm happy to report that Michael Moore just might have created a film worthy to start one.
