SecureZip - The next generation of ZIP
It's amazing how much information can be recovered from hard drives these days. In some cases an entire persons' life can be on a computer - usernames and passwords for everything, including bank account access details, important emails, and personal files such as photos. Personally I keep important records on my computer such as my phonebook, and it's something I like to keep relatively secure by storing it in an innocent sounding folder, but I'm aware that's really not enough to keep nosy people from finding it should they really wish to do so.
So what are the options to achieve optimal data security? You could either a) not store the data at all, or b) encrypt it in some way. Personally I'd just end up losing my phonebook if I left it on a bit of paper somewhere, so encryption is really the only practical answer.
With that in mind, I'd like to introduce SecureZIP - The next generation of ZIP. You can download a free copy from www.securezip.com, and use it to encrypt all of your personal files. It even integrates with outlook, so you can have two-way file encryption should you need it! It's really worth giving it a try - in the event of your laptop being stolen, it could just end up being a life saver.
