At the moment there's a feeling of inexorable doom clouding over me, much like the Sword of Damocles. This unfortunate feeling is due in whole to the fact that:


o My essay on Compilers is due in tomorrow and there's only a feeble 200 words documented so far
and
o Half Life 2 is sitting on my hard drive, waiting to be played

Now, I know everyone will be thinking "get the essay done, and then play the stupid game!", but those who know will know that it's inherently more complicated than that. Let's consider the evidence:


o The game, which the majority of the gaming community have been drooling about for six years is finally out. It is the definitive FPS out there, and it's not going to be topped for a while.
o The essay, is a complex yet subtle exposé on extending a monotonous at best programming language so it can handle array structures.

Now I know many of you will be bashing down my door for the chance to help me write that essay, so lets all form an orderly queue. While I'm waiting for you all to do that, I'll be busy playing Half Life 2...
