I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
Adam Sandler is usually my go-to guy when I need to watch a film I know I'll enjoy...until now. After making two absolutely beautiful movies in Click and Reign Over Me, he's followed it up with his worst film yet (and I can say that having seen Going Overboard).
It's not really that the film is offensive, because it is, and it isn't; it's not that he acts badly in it, because he does, and he doesn't. The film just feels...stale. It's got a very familiar format to a lot of his other films (the court scene at the end feels remarkably similar to the end of Mr Deeds), and the end result is one of boredom. Maybe my hopes were set too high after watching his last two impressive performances?
