Friday Night Lights

Billy-bob really stands out when he's playing the straight-man, authoritarian, no-nonsense roles, and Friday Night Lights is a film where he really hits hard.

It's a tough film, with tough lessons, and doesn't pull any punches, unlike a lot of it's contemporaries in the modern-sporting-rite-of-passage genres. See it, be prepared to get upset at times, and enjoy the way it gives convention the middle finger.
