Elephant

I can't get enough of this film - anyone who insists on holding a shot for as long as Gus Vant Sant does in this film has serious courage. While the film is rather disturbing, it's also so moreish, and always leaves me wanting more. The withheld narrative makes things so poignant - you're desperate to find out more about the victims lives in this film, so the abrupt ending to their lives makes things even more heartbreaking. A film I'd happily recommend to absolutely everyone, but also one that needs to come with a warning, as it'll leave even the most stonehearted person confused, disturbed, and requiring a hug.
