Dawkins & Darwin

So Richard Dawkins launched his scathing, unrelentless, and completely justified attack on Religion this evening. I can't see anything wrong with a single thing he said; I am, though, worried that he may have been a bit too forthcoming in his views. If you were a religious mentalcase, would his attack weaken, or strengthen your beliefs? Most people hate to be told they're wrong, and I fear that his programme may have inadvertently made people decide to cling to their misguided, archaic views even more.

Hi Gert, thanks for commenting.

I'm not sure I'm turning the argument around, as I definitely agree with Dawkins; I just feel that he can be too strong at times, which could damage the point he's trying to make. Enough people disregard him already, thanks to his ill-advised nickname (amongst other things), and the very last thing he'd want is the very loonies he's trying to enlighten calling him a loony in retort.

Then again, there's no accounting for some peoples beliefs, and maybe a good kick up the arse is what they need!
