Anapod Explorer: Xtreamer
Recently I decided to try out the Xtreamer functionality which is built into Red Chair Softwares Anapod Explorer, and boy was I impressed!
Xtreamer allows you to view and stream the files from your iPod through a web server, to wherever you fancy. It's got a simple yet solid looking interface, and covers all the angles in terms of functionality. The best thing about it is definitely the user control settings, in which you can create new users, assign them passwords, and log what they're viewing on your iPod. I've been using it in the office for the last week or so to exchange music with anyone who's interested, and everyone who has access to it seems more than impressed. One minor issue is that way that you can't automatically download a whole album - you have to manually click on each song, choose save, and download it. If a bit of functionality that automatically packages every song in an album into a zip file, and then allows you to download it could be developed, it would be an absolutely perfect bit of kit.
As you can tell, I'm really happy with Anapod Explorer, and haven't had to load up iTunes once since the switch over. I'd heartily recommend it to anyone who's interested in using an awesome bit of software that's fast, easy to use, and just works.
