A Brighton-based disappearing act

Since the disappearance of Klub Magic from the Komedia, there's been a serious drought of Magic entertainment in Brighton. Looking at the booklets for this years' Brighton Festival and Fringe Festivals, I thought my patience would be duly rewarded with at least one magic act to go and see; sadly, this was not the case. There'll be over 100 separate events at happening during festival season this year, and not one show is a magic show!

Naturally, I'm upset at this, and it only goes to highlight how magic really is a dying art in terms of professional performance. It's an odd thing, because the magical teaching market is absolutely thriving. From what I can gather, far too many people are learning magic for private amusement. Now, I have to confess as being one of them, but seeing the complete lack of magical representation at the festivals makes me feel like it's time I took things into my own (magical) hands...
