10k training: the two two-milers
34 days to go. The combination of proper stretching, icing, ibuprofen gel and sensible resting periods seem to be working. I say that, because my shins no longer feel like they're about to fall off, which is impressive given that I've been out running twice in the last three days.
Nothing insane, just two, two-mile jaunts in the park, but the point is that I'm not in great pain, which gives me a bit more confidence that I can actually pull off this 10k adventure of mine, given that I don't rush in again and over-train. Self control, and patience is never something I've possessed in great quantities, but it's something I'll have to find in order to not fuck things up.
On a completely unrelated note, both Joey and I decided that if all condiments were banned, burned, and never to be tasted again, bar one, that one surviving condiment would be Ketchup. It's just too versatile to destroy forever.
